Overview
Underwater Egress Training – Rotary Wing is designed to provide all aircraft crew and passengers travelling over water with the knowledge and skills necessary to react to an aircraft ditching emergency, care for themselves in a sea survival situation, and to participate to the maximum extent in their rescue. This program is not an Offshore-based training program.
PROGRAM CONTENT
- Hazards to aircraft and personnel during over-water operations
- Safety and survival equipment requirements and utilization
- Pre-ditching considerations and procedures
- Emergency ditching and evacuation procedures
- Off angle emergency evacuation (practical)
- Surface abandonment (practical)
- Survival and rescue water skills (practical)
- Helicopter Underwater escape training using the Underwater Egress Trainer (UET) or for mobile applications, the Aircraft Ditching Egress Trainer (ADEPT) (practical)
- * Optional: Firefighting component
- * Optional: Rescue/recovery training – helicopter rescue at sea simulation (practical)
- * Optional: Emergency Breathing Systems (EBS)

Course Details
PREREQUISITES
- Trainees are expected to be in a good state of health and physically capable of fully taking part in all program activities. Trainees are expected to participate in all physical training requirements.
- A valid Medical Certificate is required to be submitted prior to the start of course. See “FAQ`s -Medical Fitness” for full details.
- A valid Government Identification is required and must be presented for registration and to the instructor on the first day of course commencement. (Driver’s License, Passport, Vantage card)
CERTIFICATION
All persons who successfully complete the course based on the performance standards will receive:
- A Survival Systems Training certificate for a Rotary Wing Aircraft Ditching Course (valid for three years.)
- A laminated wallet course qualification card
