This course meets the HUEBA Review Team Recommendations to CAPP (December 2008).  It also meets the requirements as proposed by the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) for the training and qualifications of offshore personnel in the use of compressed air Emergency Breathing Systems (EBS).

  • The Physics of HUEBA operations. (Boyle’s Law and the direct effect of pressure)
  • Characteristics of the HUEBA
  • Safe use and handling of the HUEBA
  • Pre-flight check, clearing procedure and when to operate
  • Use of nose clips and masks with HUEBA
  • Breathing routine using HUEBA and possible compressed air injuries
  • Breathe with a HUEBA in air and water
  • Methods of clearing a HUEBA underwater
  • Using a HUEBA underwater, with and without a nose clip or mask
  • Locating and operating the HUEBA underwater
  • Locating and operating the HUEBA utilizing Modular – Shallow Water Egress Trainer (M-SWET) wearing a 4-point helicopter harness
