This program is designed to provide industrial workers, supervisors and Government Employees with the knowledge required to respond to a dangerous goods incident in a safe and effective manner. Personnel at the “Awareness” level are expected to recognize that a hazard exists, be capable of securing the area, take only defensive action and know when and who to call.
CONTENT :
This program covers a range of information concerning dangerous goods relevant to personnel safety, including recognition of hazardous materials, use of the Initial Emergency Response Guide, actions at an emergency scene and use of emergency response plans. The standard this program is taught to is NFPA 472, Chapter 2, “Competencies for the First Responder at the Awareness Level”. Trainees will acquire knowledge through a combination of lecture presentations, group discussions, film presentations and case studies.

Prerequisites :
- Trainees should be in a good state of health and are expected to participate in all physical training requirements.
